Why is it called The High Five Web Ring?
Well, the high five has been a sign of friendship for as long as most people can remember. Even more so, high fives have a...special meaning in my life.
FLASHBACKTIME
As long as I've known Joni, she's always given high fives. I've always given them back. Also, I found Liz, Amanda, Mel, Nick, and myself one time at the mall. Towards the end, we all high-fived each other CONSTANTLY! Liz and I started it. We would say something like "We both have two eyes!" and high-five. It was hilarious! We were doing it CONSTANTLY, and it was quite a lot of fun. I thank Liz, Amanda, Nick, and Mel for the fun I had that night. So, why don't YOU join the WebRing, and maybe YOU can have as much fun as my friends and I do?
What are the requirements to join?
The only requirements to join are as follows:
- 1) You MUST be a friend of a member already in the ring. You can find out who already is in the ring by going to my Members Page.
- 2) You MUST send me an e-mail, before or after submitting, that says WHO you are a friend with. I will not accept you into the ring until I hear that you are friends from that person.
- 3) Your site can NOT be anything more than PG-rated. No pornography, hacking, illegal, etc. sites will be accepted. And you can't have links to these sites also. Swearing will be tolerated, but only in the SMALLEST of amounts. If every two words on your site is a swear word, it can't have much to offer, so don't bother submitting.
- 4) You MUST put the HTML code that will be shown below on the page that you SUBMITTED. Which means, if you submitted index.htm as the link for the ring, you can't put the fragment on me.htm. Got it? This must be done BEFORE you are submitted to the ring.
- 5) You MUST try to get YOUR friends with homepages to join!
As you can see, I don't ask much from you. The following HTML code is the fragment you are to place on the SAME PAGE THAT YOU SUBMIT. The page whose address is the one you write/wrote in the URL to submit.
In the HTML below, the FOLLOWING things MUST be changed. Also, delete the dashes. For example, if your name was John, your site ID was 4, and your e-mail was [email protected], the -name- field would be John, NOT -John-; the -id- would be 4, NOT -4-; -mail- would be [email protected], NOT [email protected]. If you have ANY trouble with the HTML, mail me, and I'll set it up so all you have to do is copy and paste, okay? *wink wink*
- -id- becomes your Site ID (you will be given this in a letter after you sign up and are approved).
- -name- becomes your name, the owner of the site the ring will be displayed on.
- -mail- becomes your e-mail address.
For example, to get the fragment correct for this site, here's what I had to change.
- -id- became 1
- -name- became Matt M*-*-*-
- -mail- became mailme.htm (it will be your e-mail addy, unless you have a Mail Me page too)
The preceding HTML will come out to look like this:
Cool, isn't it!?!?!
