Hmmm....why do I like Sailor Moon, besides the fact that one of my best friends, Allison, does. Let's see.
1) The faces. Did you ever look at some of the facial expressions these guys, er, gals, get? From head-over-heels in love to fuming mad to embarrassed, they don't get any more original! Not to mention funny!
2) The story. Never before has there been a storyline so complex. I mean, Sailor Moon isn't your average coyote-chases-roadrunner-and-falls-off-cliff-or-gets-anvil-dropped-on-him plotline, now is it?
3) The drawing. Face it. Anime is THE best drawing around. The people LOOK like real people, and act like it too, which brings me to the next point.....
4) The characters. Such originality! Where else can yuo see a clutzy, clumsy, boy-crazy, I-hate-school girl transform into a universe-saving powerful super hero? Or, a black cat and a white cat with crescent moons on their heads talk? Plus, the personalities are great! Each character has an intricate set of traits, and different ways of interacting with each other. I love it!
5) The comedy. All the things above - the facial expressions, the characters, the drawing - plus a few things like actions and dialogue and voices, all add up to make this the only cartoon I've ever laughed at!
6) It's just plain good. That says it all in a nutshell. The show is great. It's one of the best. It is THE best cartoon. Hats off to those who created Sailor Moon, and brought it from Japan to America!
